See OwnFi in action

From today’s number
to tomorrow’s plan.

Choose what you want to understand. Every screen below is the real app using public-safe demo data.

Shown on

Home · Daily clarity

Start with the number that changes what you do today.

Safe to Spend reserves upcoming bills, then turns what remains into a realistic daily amount. Your forecast, budgets, goals, and payments stay one glance away.

  • Daily spending guidance, not another balance
  • Bills reserved before the number is calculated
  • Three-month outlook on the same screen

Activity · One timeline

Every transaction. Every source. One clean story.

Statements, receipts, screenshots, notifications, and manual entries meet in a searchable timeline with automatic categories and fast date filters.

  • Search and filter across every imported source
  • Automatic categorization with your own rules
  • Month-at-a-glance spending context

Invest · Your whole balance sheet

Everything you own and owe, added up on your phone.

Cash, holdings, property, and debts become one number in your home currency—and every line behind it. Import holdings from the file your broker already gives you; OwnFi never logs in to a broker.

  • Net worth tracked over time, with gaps disclosed, not hidden
  • An Investment Score with five factors you can inspect
  • Card & Debt Health worked out without a credit report

Plan · Intent into action

Build a plan around how you actually spend.

Set category limits, see progress instantly, carry unused money forward, and move from the same screen into goals, debts, bills, and what-if planning.

  • Visual limits grounded in real spending
  • Optional month-to-month rollover
  • Goals, debts, and subscriptions together

Time Machine · Private forecasting

See where your money is heading before you get there.

Project your balance from three months to two years using recurring income, bills, debts, goals, and everyday spending—then test changes without touching real data.

  • Know your lowest point and when it happens
  • See debt-free and goal-reached dates
  • Stack raises, purchases, and recurring changes

Advisor · Local intelligence

Ask personal questions without sending personal data.

OwnFi answers from your financial context using on-device AI when available and deterministic calculations when it is not. Your question stays yours.

  • Answers grounded in your budgets and activity
  • Local model or calculation-based fallback
  • Financial memories you control

Insights · Signal over noise

Turn a long transaction history into a few useful truths.

See monthly direction, top merchants, category changes, and unusual transactions without uploading your history to an analytics service.

  • Monthly income and expense trends
  • Top merchants and category movement
  • On-device anomaly detection

Privacy you can inspect

Your finances never need a round trip.

Statements are parsed, transactions categorized, forecasts calculated, and advisor answers generated on your phone. OwnFi has no financial-data server to send them to.

CAP–09

Voice Entry & Siri

Say “add $15 coffee” and turn natural language into a categorized transaction.

CAP–10

Password-Protected PDFs

Unlock protected statements locally without storing or uploading the password. Needs iOS 11 or newer, or Android 15 or newer — older Android builds have no way to open a locked PDF.

CAP–11

Long Statements

Multi-page statements are read page by page before analysis, so transactions on later pages are never dropped.

CAP–12

Broker & Holdings Import

Bring holdings in from the file your broker already gives you—OFX, CSVs from Questrade, Wealthsimple, RBC and TD Direct Investing, Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard and Zerodha, Zerodha holdings spreadsheets, and CDSL statements. No broker login, ever.

CAP–13

Watch a Folder

Point OwnFi at one folder and import everything new you have dropped there with a single tap. No background scanning, no timer—a scan happens when you ask for one.

CAP–14

Split by Account

A positions file covering several accounts is split up and matched to the accounts you already have, instead of collapsing into one pile.

SEE–01

Safe to Spend

Turn cash, upcoming bills, and days remaining into one practical daily number.

Insights Dashboard

Explore trends, top merchants, category movement, and unusual activity.

SEE–03

Track chequing, savings, credit, and investment accounts in one view.

SEE–05

Portfolio Tracking

Monitor holdings with public market quotes while sharing only ticker symbols.

SEE–06

True Spending

Transfers between your own accounts and credit-card payments are recognized as movement, not spending, so budgets and totals stop double-counting.

SEE–07

Explained Insights

Trends and anomalies come with a plain-English reason for what changed and which merchants or categories drove it.

SEE–08

Net Worth

Cash, holdings, property, and debts add up to one number in your home currency, tracked over time. Anything OwnFi could not convert or price is named on the card, never counted as zero.

SEE–09

Investment Score

A 0–100 read on the portfolio you entered, from five factors you can inspect: spread across asset classes, largest single holding, distance from your target, how readily sellable, and how current the values are.

SEE–10

Card & Debt Health

A 0–100 read on your cards and debts, worked out on-device from your own limits, balances, payments, and income. No credit bureau is ever contacted.

SEE–11

Wealth Alerts

Quiet notices when a holding grows outsized, an account drifts from target, a price goes stale, a deposit matures, or a goal falls behind—scheduled by your own device, not by a server.

PLN–01

Time Machine

Project balances from three months to two years and see the milestones ahead.

PLN–02

What-If Scenarios

Layer raises, purchases, and recurring changes over your forecast without altering real data.

PLN–03

Savings Goals

Set targets, measure progress, and estimate the monthly pace required.

PLN–05

Debt Tracker

PLN–06

Wealth Forecast

Project net worth one, three, five, ten, or twenty years out, with a conservative band and the point where it would cross zero called out.

PLN–07

Your Cash Plan

Keep the next 30 days of bills and spending aside, then share what is left across the priorities you set, in your order. Arithmetic on your own answers and confirmed balances—never a recommendation. Coming soon

PLN–08

Goal & Subscription Review

See what each goal needs a month to arrive on time, and mark the subscriptions you still value to see what the rest add up to over a month and a year. Coming soon

PLN–09

Compare a What-If

Stack a few changes—spend less in a category, a one-off cost, a goal contribution, an extra debt payment, a charge you stop—and see cash, the lowest point, and goal and debt-free dates against your current path. Coming soon

PLN–10

Before You Invest

The facts to weigh first: cash left after your plan, whether emergency savings are covered, how concentrated your holdings are—plus the questions on time horizon, losses, and access to your money. No tickers, no picks. Coming soon

Double-Tap Quick Add

Log an expense through iOS Back Tap, Android Quick Tap, or an app shortcut.

Turn bank and payment-app alerts into transactions on-device: on Android from a strict list of known apps you can extend, and on iOS 27 through the Shortcuts app’s notification trigger.

AUT–03

Category Rules

Teach OwnFi where merchants belong and apply the rule to future activity.

AUT–04

Home-Screen Widgets

Glance at budgets, bills, goals, and FX rates—and mark supported bills paid.

AUT–05

Apple Watch

Keep Safe to Spend, your next bill, and voice quick-add on your wrist.

AUT–06

Apple Wallet Capture

Opt in to turn supported purchase notifications into local transactions.

AUT–07

Guided Onboarding

Start with sample data before you type anything, set income and suggested budget limits in one focused first run, and import your first statement right from the last step.

AUT–08

Learns From Corrections

Recategorize a merchant once and OwnFi remembers. Corrections History shows everything it has learned, and you can undo any of it.

AUT–09

Merchant Aliases

Merge every spelling of the same merchant into one name—and saving an alias rewrites your past transactions, not just future imports.

AUT–10

Morning Number

A 7:30 notification with what you can safely spend today, bills already reserved. The amount shows only if you show amounts on the widget—a lock screen is at least as public.

AUT–11

YNAB CSV Export

Date, Payee, Memo, Outflow, Inflow—a file YNAB’s import accepts as it is, made on the phone from any statement, password-protected PDFs included.

PRV–01

Private AI Advisor

Ask questions against your financial context without sending it to a cloud LLM.

PRV–02

Financial Memories

Save preferences and priorities for the advisor—and delete them whenever you choose.

PRV–03

Encrypted Backup & Restore

Create AES-256 encrypted packages that only your account credentials can unlock.

PRV–04

Family Sync

Send encrypted finance packages over local Wi-Fi or through a share destination you choose—and send the app itself to a partner who does not have it yet.

PRV–05

Model Library

Download, manage, and remove local Gemma models on your terms.

PRV–06

Zero-Download AI

Use the operating system’s built-in on-device model when available — Apple Intelligence on iOS 26+, and Gemini Nano on Android phones that have it. On iOS 27 it reads receipts and screenshots directly.

PRV–07

Demo Mode & Privacy Proof

Explore fictional data, then inspect the exact safeguards and endpoints behind the privacy promise—and share the proof as text.

PRV–08

Answers That Show Their Work

Every advisor figure is computed from your real transactions and arrives with the period, the transaction count, and the categories behind it. If a number can’t be grounded in your data, OwnFi won’t state it.

PRV–09

An Advisor That Follows Along

Ask “why?” or “and last month?” and it knows what you meant. It explains the app’s own figures, finds specific transactions, and suggests questions your data can actually answer. The thread lives in memory and is never saved.

PRV–10

Biometric Unlock

Reopen your account with Face ID, Touch ID, or a fingerprint from the sign-in screen as well as at launch—and erase the enrollment outright on a shared device.

PRV–11

Encrypted at Rest

The database is encrypted on the phone under a key that lives only in the iOS keychain or Android keystore, and it is excluded from device backups—OwnFi’s own encrypted backup is the copy.

Questions worth asking

Private finance should be easy to explain.

Need help with a specific feature? The support page covers imports, widgets, AI, backup, and account recovery.

Visit support
Why doesn’t OwnFi connect directly to my bank?

Bank-linking services require your balances and transactions to pass through a third party. OwnFi takes the opposite approach: you bring a PDF, CSV, OFX file, receipt, screenshot, notification, or manual entry, and the app processes it locally.

Is the AI advisor really offline?

Yes. A local Gemma model or a supported operating system model generates open-ended answers on-device. When no model is available, OwnFi uses deterministic calculations instead. Your financial context is not sent to a cloud AI service.

What data ever leaves my phone?

Financial data is never uploaded for analysis. Optional calls are limited to downloading a model from Hugging Face, fetching exchange rates from open.er-api.com, and fetching public ticker prices from Yahoo Finance.

Can OwnFi track my investments and net worth?

Yes. The Invest tab adds up cash, holdings, property, and debts into one number in your home currency. Holdings can be typed in or imported from a file your broker already gives you — OFX, broker CSVs, Zerodha holdings spreadsheets, or a CDSL statement. OwnFi never logs in to a broker and cannot see an account you have not imported, which is the trade-off for keeping everything on the device: you decide what is tracked. Anything it could not convert or price is named on the card rather than quietly counted as zero.

Is Card & Debt Health a credit score?

No. It is a 0–100 figure OwnFi works out on your device from your own card balances, the limits you enter, the payments it can match, and your stated income — which is also why it is scaled out of 100 rather than into the range a bureau uses. OwnFi never contacts a credit bureau and never requests a report. Where a component has no data it is left out and the gap is shown next to the figure instead of being guessed at. For an actual bureau score, use your card issuer or a bureau’s own service.

Where do wealth alerts come from if there is no server?

From your own phone. OwnFi evaluates the alert conditions on-device — a holding growing outsized, an account drifting from target, a stale price, a maturing deposit, a goal falling behind — and hands the result to your operating system’s local notification scheduler. There is no OwnFi push server to contact, and nothing about the alert or the data behind it leaves the device. Categories can be turned off in Settings.

Does OwnFi have a dark mode?

Yes. Settings → Appearance offers Light, Dark, and Follow system, and the choice applies immediately across every screen.

What happens when I change phones?

Create an encrypted backup, move the file using any service you choose, then restore it on the new device with the same account email and password. OwnFi never receives the backup or its key.

How much does OwnFi cost?

OwnFi is free. There is no subscription or paid tier planned.

How does OwnFi make money?

Through optional partner offers and clearly labelled sponsorships. Affiliate links can include brokers, tax-filing services, and international money-transfer providers after each program approves OwnFi. The app does not attach financial data or personal identifiers to a link. There are no ad networks, subscriptions, or data sales. How partner offers work.
